Commercial Character Gets TV Show

I bet the person that came up with the cavemen in the Geico commercial is as happy as can be now that they are getting their own show. Can you believe it? The cavemen are probably tickled too, since they only signed up for a few commercials and now have a show on ABC. It premieres tomorrow; stay tuned to see if it is just a 22 minute Geico commercial.

Amy, I have to say I am so glad this show did not get off the ground. What were they thinking. I did not even know that the Geico Caveman was that popular or were they trying to make the caveman more popular than he really was. The creation of the storyline would have been interesting to me.

The controversy of evolution vs. creation would have been front and center. I remember a friend of mine became upset when she saw a billboard advertising the St. Louis Zoo. The billboard showed an ape then said something like, she shares 98% of our DNA.

In the end they might have been better off with the gecko.

Amy~
I agree with Ouida, and I believe the evolution/creation debate did play a part in killing this show.

The entire marketing of the cavemen has lead me to think about the history of racism in the media. I think that now, it being too risky for the media to pick on most minorities (except the Arabs - they are evidently still fair game) the US public still has to hold onto some since of supremacy, and the media is happy to feed it to them.
